10 Best Games for Low-End PCs and Laptops

PC gaming has long been considered one of the most excellent ways to play sports. However, as nice as it is to have a high-powered system that will last forever, these setups are also difficult to maintain as they need to be modified with each new release’s increasing hardware specifications. That’s why keeping up with PC game trends can sometimes end up costing a lot.

However, there are a lot of great games from the past that can run on low-end PCs without much trouble. In this blog post, I’m going to guide you through some of the best low-end PC games.

1.  F1 2010

F1 2010

When it comes to serious racing, there is nothing like a Formula 1 game. The penultimate race where you drive over 300 km / h and minor understeer or oversteer will make you lose a complete race.

The game is excellent and can be played with AMD HD 5570 or Nvidia 7900 GTX graphics cards with 1 GB or 512 MB VRAM with a Core 2 duo device or a dual-core PC. The game was released in September 2010. The game was developed by Codemasters and sold 2,3 million copies worldwide.

Specs:

OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 GHz /Athlon X2
RAM: 1GB RAM (2GB for Vista)

2.  Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty 2 is among the best wargaming titles. It is the first-person video shoot of 2005 and the second episode of the widely recognized Call of Duty series. The game has both single-player and multiplayer mode and takes place during World War II. The game has an intense amount of gunfights, and you’re wondering if you’re going to make a living mission.

The Mission Battle of Pointe du Hoc D-Day mission in a single-player campaign depicting American LCVP landing craft is one of the epic missions ever made in the game and was outstanding when the game was released.

You can play this game on your legacy device and enjoy strong gameplay and graphics. The game was developed by Infinity Ward and was released in October 2005 by Konami.

Specs:

OS: English version of Windows 2000/XP
CPU: Pentium 4 or Athlon XP
CPU SPEED: 1.4 GHz (Pentium) / 1700+ (Athlon)
RAM: 256 MB
VIDEO CARD: 3D Accelerated hardware card needed-100 percent compatible with DirectX 9.0c 64 MB (NVIDIA GeForce3 + /ATI Radeon 8500 +)

3.  Poly Bridge

Poly Bridge

Poly Bridge is a beautiful puzzle game, a bit in the vein of now-old games like The Incredible Machine. In this case, you must build bridges that can accommodate a certain number of vehicles while still entering the budget. These two simple goals can be difficult to accomplish at a later stage (there are more than 60) as the game adds multiple hazards and the need to deploy construction techniques. I’m pretty sure the Army Corps of Engineers does not approve.

The game has recently had a sequel (which I haven’t played yet). Reviews seem a little less fascinated than Poly Bridge, with one comment seemed more like an expansion pack to the original. However, it is excellently rated on Steam.

Specs:

OS: Windows 7
Memory: 2 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7200 GS
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.00GHz
GPU: GeForce 7200 GS

4.  Into the Breach

Into the Breach

Into the Breach is a turn-based strategy game that takes place on small 8×8 grid maps. From the FTL developers, Into the Breach challenges you to fight back waves of attackers in turn-based combat. There are no XCOM-style probabilities fields to contend with here — you get absolute clarity on what actions both your own characters and the enemies you engage with will take.

Into the Breach released in 2018, but today it continues to recognize its innovative approach to turn-based fighting. It’s certainly worth checking out if you’re looking for some turn-based combat options.

Specs:

OS: Windows Vista/7/8/10
CPU SPEED: 1.7+ GHz or better
RAM: 1 GB
VIDEO CARD: Intel HD 3000 or better
FREE DISK SPACE: 300 MB

5.  Battlefield 2

Battlefield 2

Battlefield 2 is a first-person video shooting developed with contributions from Trauma Studios by Digital Illusions CE (DICE). Battlefield 2 is the third complete game in the Battlefield series, released by Electronic Arts on June 21, 2005.

The game may have been developed in 2005, but it has beautiful graphics and is programmed very well and easily played on most PCs or PCs with Core i3 or Core 2 Duo. It’s an outstanding first-person shooter with a little strategy and a big brute force to achieve the game’s goals. Battlefield 2 is a sequel to the original 1942 Battlefield and provides several improvements in gameplay and graphics.

Specs:

OS: Windows XP (32-bit version)/Vista/7
CPU: Pentium 4 or Athlon XP equivalent

There are some other modes in the game, such as 4 * 4 combat and fast combat, making it an entertaining game. The new PUBG Lite PC runs on a low-end PC that needs the Intel Core i3 CPU, 4 GB Ram, and Intel HD graphics to run. You can play the PUBG PC lite easily on any low-end laptop or PC.

7.  Among Us

Among Us

Among Us is a multiplayer online game designed to be played with 4 to 10 players. 1 to 3 players are randomly assigned the Imposter’s role while the remaining players try to complete different tasks throughout the space ship.

If you play as an Imposter, it’s up to you to turn the other players against each other as you take them out one by one. Conversely, the Crew’s duty is to work together before the traitors can be killed or accomplish their tasks.

It’s not a complicated game in any way and can run on just about any system, including less powerful laptops and PCs. If you don’t have a whole group of friends to play with, you can still try looking at discord and Reddit, or just enter a random lobby.

Specs:

OS: Windows 7 SP1+

8.  Disco Elysium

Disco Elysium

Disco Elysium is a story-driven RPG that has you playing as a detective sent to investigate the murder of a man who was found hanging from a tree. Previously, the game was only playable on mid-to-high-end pcs, but developer ZA / UM did us all a favor by patching the game to accommodate a wider variety of hardware.

Set in the fictional city of Revachol after a failed communist revolution, the game provides a dialogue-heavy commentary on the long-lasting effects of political instability while acting as a backdrop to the mystery you’re trying to solve.

Hunting clues and possible leads give you plenty of chances to dig around NPCs’ personal values and biases when coping with your own insecurities. This is where the game’s RPG mechanics come into play, allowing you to learn an array of unique skills tailored to various play styles.
